Body Mass Index: Weight vs. Height
The Body Mass Index is a measure of one's weight against their height in order to determine whether or not he/she is underweight, overweight, obese or normal through a comparison to a set of reference values. You can calculate your BMI using the following equation:
BMI = [(wt. in lbs) X 705)] / (height in inches)2
*According to the Panel on Energy, Obesity, and Body Weight Standards published by American Journal of Clinical Nutrition
Women tend to believe they look their best at values between 20 to 22 and men are usually satisfied with a BMI of 23 to 25. If your BMI is 25 or more, you should consider consulting your health care professional.
